Music Video Moodboard

Today I have launched a moodboard that will be hosted on Tumblr. It's interesting to think how music videos have developed over the years. As music is becoming mass produced, is it possible to run out of music video ideas?

Genre Presenation through 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'

NOTE: PLEASE CLICK ON BLUE PAGES TO ZOOM IN AND VIEW.
I am definitely considering the use of paradigms and iconography, to help connect with the audience and show a sense of empathy. Doing this deconstruction has made me think deeper about who my viewer are and how and why I want to relate.

Andrew Goodwin, Music Video Theorist

I've enjoyed learning about Goodwin's theory. I feel the majority of his focuses can be used in my video. 'Narrative and Performance' will play and important part in the making, as will 'Relation of visuals to song' to illustrate a deeper meaning to the lyrics and the message.

Reflection on AS Media

While studying AS media, I gained many skills. Not only do I know how to create, but what to look for. I can't watch any television program without pointing out the connotations of the mise-en-scene. If anything, I have a deeper appreciation for all media texts.

So, as it is the dawning of A2 media, I thought I'd reflect on specifically what I have learnt, understood and gained for AS media.
Here we go!

Capturing the Mise-en-scene;
I now know what everything I see on the TV, on posters, magazines, in movies mean. I understand why there are specific colours, prepositions, camera angles, sound and editing techniques. It has made me realize that, in these situation, everything really does happen for a reason.

Presentation;
While blogging, I've found that plain text isn't that amusing, and can become boring after a while. I have been able to use different internet facilities to jazz it up a bit. For example I have used slideshare, goanimate, emaze and social media sites such as twitter and tumblr.

Confidence;
Yes, I've become more confident when it comes to physically creating things. I usually doodle ideas on paper anyway, but I've been give the opportunity to actually make something, and no matter how it turns out to be in the end, I'm glad I gave it a shot.
